Logan's Senior Pictures

We photographed Logan for his senior pictures tonight and we had a great time. His mom and my mom teach together at Notre Dame Elementary School, and have for many years. In fact I think I babysat Logan when he was younger. He is going to be a senior at Dakota Ridge HS this year, and he runs for their state championship cross country team. We actually went to the park where he does his training runs with the team, (we thought about getting some pictures of him running...but we decided against it.) Here are a few of our favorites...

Some Of My Favorites

I have so many pictures stored on my computer that I thought I would start sharing some of them with everyone.

This was taken during a camping trip in September of 2001, a few of us decided to hike to the top of Mt. Bierstadt and Mt. Evans, here in Colorado. This is my friend Brian just pondering, or wondering why the heck we decided to do this. Either way it is still one of my favorite pictures. It was taken with my very first digital camera, an HP 2.1 megapixel, which cost a ton of money. It is amazing to see how far the technology has come, and how much better the picture quality is today.

Check Out Some New Music

We have added a new song to our website, it is by a young artist named Derek Daisey. He has graciously allowed us to use his music on our website, and right now we have his song entitled "Where To Begin," as the first song on our website. Make sure to listen to it and let us know what you think, and check out his website to listen to more of his music. It is really good.

Good Customer Service

So often today we receive bad customer service; rude people, automated phone systems, and sometimes a feeling that you can't rectify something negative that has happened to you. With that being said I like to take time and mention good customer service. My cousin Josh and I played 9 holes of golf this afternoon, there was a group of two ladies ahead of us playing very slowly. On the 5th hole the marshal came to us and said we were an entire hole behind, that we needed to speed up our play, and he told us maybe we should play from the shorter tees. It is his job to make sure everyone is playing quickly, and if we were playing slowly I would have no problem being told to play faster. However we were playing as fast as possible, his attitude towards us was very negative.

It made me mad, so after our round we went in and told the manager about our complaint. He was apologetic, said he would talk with the course marshal and gave each of us a free round of golf. I left the course happy, I felt that the situation was rectified and I will definitely play there again.

So many times we receive bad service and all we do is complain about it. If a manager or supervisor doesn't know then he or she can't fix the situation. I think it is important to voice your concerns when you do receive bad service; and it is equally important to pass praise along for good service.

I would definitely want to know if a client or customer was unhappy, because I would do everything to make that person happy again. So many business owners forget the old adage "the customer is always right." Business owners don't want to believe it, but it is so true. If you base your business around this saying you will be very successful.

A Day Game and Brooms

The Rockies played the last game of a three game series with the Yankees yesterday and we decided to go. After going to about a dozen games last year, yesterday was our first game for this season. It was pretty cool to see the Yankees and watch Roger Clemens pitch, but it was even better to watch the Rockies complete a three game sweep. The Rockies are the hottest team in baseball right now, which is a nice change from all of the losing the past few years.

It was a perfect afternoon for a game.

Jessica, Heather and Rachel. We are photographing Rachel's wedding in August so make sure to look for her pictures.

It was also a perfect day to sweep the Yankees out of Colorado.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there, I hope you had a wonderfully relaxing day. And especially to my own dad who has been a huge inspiration to me. He did a triathlon today and I only hope I can get into decent enough shape so that he doesn't wipe me out in the mountains this fall. Thanks for everything dad...

Matt and Kelly

We just got back from Matt and Kelly's engagement session and we had an incredible time. We went to Washington Park in Denver and the two of them needed no direction at all. They were incredibly easy to photograph and had a lot of fun, they even indulged me and Jessica in some of our ideas. Their wedding is at the end of July and we are getting very excited for it. Here are a few of our favorite pictures...

Morgan's Senior Pictures

Jessica and I had the opportunity to photograph Morgan for her senior pictures, and we had a great time. She is going to be a senior at Green Mountain High School this year, but she is already thinking about college. She plays on the softball team and is hopeful that they are going to have a good season. Morgan was incredibly easy to photograph, she never stopped smiling and I think she had a good time. Here are a few of our favorites...

Who doesn't love running through the sprinklers?

Jessica's brother and sister-in-law and their two boys spent the weekend with us, they were here for Heather's graduation party. Saturday it was very hot out and Taylor decided that he would like to run through the sprinklers; and run he did. There is nothing like watching a 3 year old smile and laugh and shout as he gets sprayed. He is definitely the most adorable, and smartest, 3 year old I have ever met.

We're two years old!

Today Jessica and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary, it has been an incredible 2 years; we have grown so much and experienced so much together. To be able to love another person the way I love Jessica is hard to describe with words. All I can say is that I thank God everyday for bringing us together, it has truly been a blessing. People always say that it is the easiest decision you will ever make, and that is so true. There wasn't a doubt in mind that Jessica was "the one." I am so excited about the future that lies ahead of us, and where we will go. I am also excited about the present; what will happen to us tomorrow and the next day. There are so many exciting things happening in our life right now I want to enjoy every single moment together.

For anyone considering marriage, don't listen to the naysayers and people who tell you not to. Marriage is such an incredible adventure and there is nothing better than sharing it with that perfect person.

Congratulations Heather

Jessica's sister Heather graduated with her masters degree from The University of Denver this past weekend. She is an incredibly intelligent and caring person, and it has been awesome to get to know her and spend time with her these past few years. She has many talents and I have no doubt that she will be able to accomplish amazing things with her life. Jessica and I selfishly hope that she will remain in Denver, but we know that she wants to travel; so we wish her luck and know she will be successful wherever her life takes her. Here are a few pictures...

Mandi and Cory Part 2

You can tell a lot about a couple by what their friends and family say, and how they raise their children. We already knew Mandi and Cory were an amazing couple but after their rehearsal dinner and wedding we understood why. They have amazing family and friends who love them and helped them celebrate their wedding day. They also have the most well-behaved and adorable 1 year old, Tyler, and it wasn't hard to see what great parents they are. Their wedding was at the Evergreen Lake House and even the rain couldn't keep spirits down, it only rained for about 15 minutes during the ceremony and really made for some great photos. There were some tears, Mandi's dad was quite sick the entire week and was barely able to make it to the wedding. He couldn't stay to dance with Mandi, so she danced with her mom and it made for an incredibly emotional time. Other than that it was laughing, partying, dancing, more partying, and more dancing and a wonderfully great time.

It is difficult to describe our gratitude to Mandi and Cory for allowing us to be a part of their wedding day, we are so thankful that we have had the opportunity to know them and their families. Here are some of our favorite pictures from the day, and thanks again Mandi and Cory for giving us the opportunity to photograph your wedding.
