Another one of my favorites

This was taken last summer on a backpacking trip with my good friend Jon. If you click on his name it will take you to his blog, he is currently bicycling across eastern Europe with two of my other friends.

This picture was taken at Great Basin National Park in Nevada. It is one of the most isolated, and rarely visited of all the national parks. In fact there isn't even an entrance fee, it is however about a 12 hour drive from Denver. It is probably most well known for it's many groves of bristlecone pine trees, they are some of the oldest living trees in the world.

After hiking for about 12 hours, through some very steep terrain, we got to this vantage point just as the sun was setting. Our timing couldn't have been more perfect...
