Matt and Kelly Got Married!

Jessica and I had such a great time with Matt and Kelly, they are such a fun couple. Rain, no problem, they took it in stride and we got some great umbrella pictures. I love all the unique things that make every wedding special. Kelly's mother made her dress, and Kelly made her bridesmaids dresses; and they were all amazing. Kelly's dad wrote the song that hew walked her down the aisle to; and Kelly's sisters wrote and performed the song for their first dance. And Kelly's dad's band took care of the music at the reception. We had such a wonderful time, and got some great pictures. Enjoy...

Here's Why You Need a Wedding Album

My mom's birthday was yesterday and Jess and I have been working on her birthday present for awhile. In fact it was a gift for both her and my dad. They have been married for 31 years and don't have a wedding album. All they have are 60 4x6's that are beginning to fade; and are stuck in an album that is falling apart. So Jessica and I snuck into their house while they were on vacation, scanned their pictures and put together a small album for them. My mom watched it about 10 times last night and cried every time.

I think it really showed the importance of getting an album in your wedding package. Sure things were different when they got married 31 years ago; but today there is no reason you shouldn't get a gorgeous wedding album in your photography package.

Here it is, I hope you enjoy it as much as they did...

We had a photography playdate times three today!

Jessica and I got to have a fun afternoon with the most adorable triplets today. Samantha, Jenelle and Emily took us to the park and let us just take some pictures of them playing and interacting with each other. Their dad, Bob, works for my dad so I have known the girls since they were born. Their mom, Pam, keeps them busy with all kinds of fun activities and she just loves spending time with her girls. Here is a slideshow of the afternoon...

One of my favorite blogs.

I have three good friends who are currently bicycling across Eastern Europe. Yes bicycles. It is a trip they have been planning for the better part of three years and it has finally come to fruition. They will be gone for about two months, riding, camping and experiencing as much as they can. You can check out where they are, where they have been and read about some of their adventures while camping out by clicking here.

Ashley and Chris

We can't say thank you enough to Ashley and Chris for letting us photograph their wedding; we had an incredible time getting to know their families and spending time with the two of them. They are two amazing people who were definitely made for each other, Jessica and I really enjoyed watching them interact with each other and they were super easy to photograph. Their wedding was about 20 miles south of Pagosa Springs, CO on some property that her uncle owns. It was a beautiful site tucked away in the mountains, and despite some rain it turned out perfectly.

They met at a super bowl party a few years ago, and Ashley's mom knew within hours that they were going to get married (pretty good intuition I'd say.) You can tell a lot about people by what their friends and family say about them; and everyone had amazing and wonderful things to say. Their toasts were great, and it was fun to learn more about them.

Good luck to both of you and we wish you happiness for the rest of your lives.
Here are some of our favorite pictures from their wedding...

Chris and Ashley's Slideshow

Here is Chris and Ashley's slideshow; except for some rain, the day was absolutely perfect. The scenery was gorgeous, the people were great, and Chris and Ashley were so happy. All makes for a perfect day. Check back in a few days for pictures from their wedding and a little more about Chris and Ashley, until then enjoy...

Chris and Ashley's Wedding

We just got back to our hotel room and thought we would share one picture from the day. We had a great time, it was a beautiful day, and we are going to bed. Check back tomorrow (night) and we will have the slideshow up.

Oh, the site was gorgeous, and I'm pretty sure the rainbow must be good luck.

Pictures From Pagosa

Well we made it through the sand dunes, and there were no bear sightings. The sand dunes are an incredible place, 30 square miles of dunes that reach a height of 750 feet. If you ever get a chance to visit I would definitely recommend it. Thanks to wireless internet finding its way into almost every hotel in the country, here are some of our favorites...

Our great campsite, #25.

Sunset the first night.

I love this quote.

This is the scenery just 10 minutes from the wedding we are shooting Saturday in Pagosa. We can't wait.

We're Leaving

Jessica and I are getting ready to leave for our first destination wedding. We are heading to Pagosa Springs, CO for Chris and Ashley's wedding and we are very excited. It is going to be a beautiful wedding with some amazing scenery. We are going to make a stop at the Great Sand Dunes National Park for a night of camping. We will try and update the blog while we are gone; but make sure to check back Monday the 16th for pictures, slideshows and a recap of the week. Talk to you soon.

Heather is graduating!

Jessica and I took senior pictures for Heather this evening and we had a blast. She was super easy to photograph and had a great smile. She is a senior at Green Mountain High School and plays on the softball team there. Here are a few of our favorites...

It's A Birthday Celebration!

Our nephews birthdays are only about 2 weeks apart so they had a big party for them this weekend. Maddox is 1 and Taylor is 3. It was an under water theme, so they had swimming pools, sprinklers, some Nemo, crabs on their cupcakes and lots of fun. There were about 12 kids in all so it was really just a free for all, cupcakes, presents, tattoos (the fake kind) and only a few tears made for a very fun day. We put together a little slideshow of the festivities. There is a new feature on our slideshows, a DVD purchase button. If you would like to order a DVD copy of the slideshows all you do is click that button, and it will take you to the order screen. We hope you enjoy the show, we certainly enjoyed making it...

Why did the bear cross the road?

Honestly, I have no idea. All I know is that yesterday my dad and I went hiking and on our way back a bear ran across the highway. Driving on 285 near Fairplay, at about 8:00 in the evening a large black bear decided he needed to cross the road, by the time we turned around and drove back he was already across the road, but I did get one quick picture of him. Here is that one and a few more...

Happy Fourth of July

Without sounding too cheesy, the 4th is one of my favorite holidays because of what is symbolizes for our country. I have no idea why fireworks help to symbolize this, I do know that I enjoy watching fireworks shows, and shooting some of our own. Seriously though, the 4th of July is truly a historic date for our country, and it makes me remember all the people who have fought to preserve everything we have. I know I will say a prayer for all of the men and women who are currently fighting right now to protect our freedom.

With that being said here are a few fireworks pictures. My sister got a small burn on her thumb from the sparklers, but nothing too bad...

Sarah and I lighting some smoke bombs.

Jess and my mom enjoying the show.

This is how Chrissy got a small burn.

My dad really is the master of fireworks. He is the most reasonable, intelligent person I know. But on the 4th he loves to shoot off his fireworks.

For some reason I don't have many pictures of my parents, but here is a very nice one.
